Munro magic
Munros are the highest 282 mountains in Scotland (above 3000ft/ 915m). In 2005 I once again took the opportunity to climb about 5 of them. I’ve now done about 12, only 270 to go!!!

2004 The Great Glen way
In 2004 I walked The Great Glen way with my wife and dog, each of us with our own rugsacks and all our own gear.
Though staying in B+B’s along the way the weather was really hot..25+ (which is very hot for Scotland) so we where carrying alot of water and alot of dog food (600g per day). So it ended out being slightly harder than planned.
The daily walking distance was about 20km and most of the walking was flat along the water, with the occasional steap climb through the woods.
Day 1- Dropped the car off at Fort Augustus with clean cloths and dog food for the second half.
Day 2- Taxi to Fort William (dog wasn’t allowed on the bus!). Walk to Gairlochy 16km.
Day 4- South Laggan to Fort Augustus 20km ( detour because the dog wasn’t allowed in national park).
Day 5- Day off.
Day 6- Fort Augustus to Invermoriston 14km.
Day 7 Invermoriston to Drumnadrochit 22km.
Day 8- On to Inverness 30km.
By the end of the week alot of the boat tourists had seen us or heard of us via via. We became the “walking tourist attraction” of Loch Ness(mainly due to pip and his rugsack).
This was a beautiful walk and the weather helped alot in making it great fun. This really is a beautiful part of the world, its such a shame the weather is usually crap and you get eaten alive by the miggies!!
