Hi I'm Shane Little. Join me on my journey through Africa by bicycle. Which started in Cape Town November 2011.

With this blog I hope to captivate you, inspire and move you but will probably just bore or even upset you.......
Call in from time to time and see how I'm getting on or just be lazy and use one of the social buttons at the top of the page.
Feel free to comment occasionally, this is like people cheering from the side of the road and helps me through the darker days.

Thanks Mike,
I suspect most of us go through the same process at some point in our lives
Just checking your still alive. Am now inspired to get my bike over Christmas as have knacked my shoulder and cannot row any more. Keep safe and the interesting stories coming.
Great pics so far and enjoying the diary. Just ordered a Brooks Flyer for my mid age ass.
Cold , Foggy and damp in Newcastle .
Travel well.
The brooks flyer is great for fat arsed people like myself, loving it, take it out for a ride in the rain when you first get it, it breaks it in alot quicker:)
The R332 through Baviaanskloof is a public road and the refusal to let you through is illegal…. For anyone else reading this, en-route from Willowmore, stop at Studtis Police Station, speak to the station commander, tell him you are cycling (or walking for that matter) to Patensie and request SAP assistance in getting through the gate. They will enforce the public right of way at the gate. And it’s free! ECPB’s actions in blocking the road and demanding an entry fee is B***S***. Access from the Patensie side is still a problem however.
Thanks for the info Jan, I’ll add that to my cycling in South Africa page when I get round to writing it. Such a shame I didn’t know this beforehand, but thats life, hopefully we can make it easier for other cyclists.
12 dec. Shane is often in our mind, but we forget to open the website. Now I am thinking of it and I aware I heve a lot to read. Whow Shane what have you done??? shock, illness, fever, and a lot of troubles. Take care of your self boy, you surely know a lot of what can happens so do’nt do it anymore.
We have had a very nice rest in the Canarian Islands. Koos did his trips in his own way and it was great to aware how much he did. It is getting better with him, it was good for his mind and now we are in the speed of the things of the day. When you are hiking with Christmas, we will tink of you. We do’nt do much only some kids of Koos, that will be nice. We wish you all the best. Go on, make fun and all good wishes for you in 2012
with love from Henny
